For parents and caregivers who want to improve their skills at being a calm and steady presence when their child has BIG emotions. When you stay calm, your body language and tone of voice can help your child’s nervous system start to calm down too. Open to anyone, anywhere. At DBTweens, the family is our client. We work with both children and caregivers to build lasting change through understanding, skill-building, and connection.
Class Overview —
– Fully Online: Attend all classes from home via Zoom
– Length: 10 weeks
– Schedule: One weekly 60-minute parent coaching class, one weekly 60-minute parent coaching session.
– Approach: Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children (DBT-C)
– Fees: Self-pay only. HSA funds may be applicable.
What Caregivers Learn —
Our class helps caregivers:
- Support their child’s emotional development and respond more calmly and effectively to their child’s big emotions and difficult behaviors.
- Practice strategies that help you create a supportive and validating home environment, where your child feels understood and encouraged to use coping skills.
About DBT / DBT-C
Dialectical Behavior Therapy-C (DBT-C) is an evidence-based therapy adapted specifically for children under 12.
- Teaches children practical skills for emotional regulation
- Helps caregivers learn supportive strategies to reinforce those skills at home.
